Yet another win for the mighty Foxes, with six wins from the last seven games this nearly equals the record that we set in 1993. On one hand I don’t want to see that record that we worked so hard for broken, but on the other it is a massive achievement for the team. A lot of credit has to go to Nigel Pearson and the team.

With Leeds being thrashed 6-0 by their arch Yorkshire rivals Sheffield Wednesday I knew Citu would be in for a tough game. However the lads did so well and managed to grind out a 1-0 victory. That for me is the sign of a promotion winning team who can go anywhere and get a result without necessarily playing to the best of their ability.

On to new signings, I look forward to meeting both Riyad Mahrez and Kevin Phillips at the fortress that is the King Power Stadium tomorrow. I don’t know much about Mahrez but I’m told he has excellent technical ability and will be one to watch. I’ve been saying for the last 2 years that Leicester needed a finisher like Kevin Phillips and finally we have him! Don’t be surprised to see him bang plenty of goals in and I might have a sneaky tenner on him getting into double figures before the end of the season.  You might think I’m mad but we create so many chances Kevin will definitely put them away! I’m very happy and the squad looks complete and I feel this season is the biggest opportunity we’ve had since I tucked the winner away to send us into ‘Dreamland’ in 1994. Magnif!

I’ve been looking at the fixtures and believe in April we can win all 7 games if my stats are right so it’s worth a decent bet! If that happens, promotion will be gained early, but I suspect Nigel Pearson already has an eye on his squad for the Premier League and he will want to plan well ahead for that eventuality. It will mean players in the present squad going all out to prove they deserve a chance in the top league, what better incentive to get those all-important results right now!

The Big One! Event for your diaries, come and join me for my long awaited book launch and 50th Birthday bash on the 8th of November 2014. Friday night football always feel a bit strange to me, like Tuesday night football, not quite right? But, if Leicester City play like they did against Derby then clearly Friday is our night! I always believed that City could beat Derby despite their recent winning streak, but I didn’t expect the utter annihilation of our local rivals! Our goals had a devastating effect on the Derby defence and once the goals stared coming in, we were unstoppable.

The front line attack we played against Derby was the most convincing yet. Lloyd Dyer and Anthony Knockaert wide, feeding the ball through to Jamie Vardy and David Nugent; and they were all on fire! Lloyd Dyer looked as though he was terrorising Derby’s defence, the performance he put in was pure class. I’ve heard Nigel Pearson saying that he now believes he has got the best 11 on his regular squad, so we know what to expect for future games. I will agree after Friday’s match and I still think that LCFC have got a strong bench as well. Not only has Nigel Pearson got a strong squad, but they showed this to everyone on Sky TV! It made my commentary even more special.

It’s been a great start to what I think will be our year! I’ve got so much to be excited about for 2014, it’s my 50th birthday this year and I’m planning a very special birthday party with K Kong Events. I will also be publishing my new book, and Muzzy and I are setting up a new football academy. AFDA (Advanced Football Development Academy) will offer 16-18 year olds a chance to gain either a BTEC qualification through a sport specific programme, or a route to professional football, as well as being trained by former pros, myself and Muzzy Izzet.

There’s also some great events planned this year with K Kong Events. We have booked a night with Ricky Hatton on the 26th April, our annual charity golf day on the 9th May (with a fantastic prize) and my 50th on 8th November. For my birthday I am planning to launch my book and have a big bash at the Maher Centre, all tables will come with a hardback copy of my book!

Good luck to Leicester City for their up-and-coming matches, let’s show the rest of the league just what we are capable of!

Lastly I would like to say ‘all the best’ to Matt Elliott who is now over in Thailand training the army’s football team for LCFC’s Thai owners.

Well, what a cracking Christmas for the boys in blue! We are top of the league again and putting in some great performances. And, not only are we top of the league but we are building a nice gap of points between us and the teams below. I do believe that we are the best team in the league, and now the goals are starting to flow.  I think City now stand a really good chance of getting themselves into the Premier League, but I think the team needs to show themselves as physically and mentally tougher to get there. The squad is big enough to carry us through the season and tactically have a lot of options. I’ll be interested to see if any purchases are made in the January window to boost our aim for a Premiership campaign.

Over the festive season I’ve ended up lying in bed for 9 days due to illness! I missed both Christmas day and New Years Eve. But, despite feeling really ill I forced myself to both home games. Although we beat Reading 1-0, I think we could have pulled off a better score but we made up for it against Bolton scoring 5 goals. Not only did we get the full 3 points but boosted our goal difference as well. We also saw the return of Jermaine Beckford and Matt Mills, they both seemed to turn up the heat against Leicester. It’s a shame neither of them played that well when they were playing for us! I suppose I should wish Matt Mills good luck with his up-and-coming wedding to Jade Elliott, my good friend Matt Elliott’s daughter!

Matt Elliott is just about to leave us behind as he travels to Thailand to run their army football team. The City owners have been good enough to set up this opportunity for him. I wish him the best of luck!

I’ve got a big year ahead of me, I’m just about to start a six month charity project. It’s called ‘Dry Athlete’ and I will not be drinking any alcohol until July. I hope I can do it! I’m sure with everyone’s support I will manage. I will post my ‘just giving’ details soon so anyone who wants to donate can do.

I have also been writing my new book for a while now, it’s scheduled launch is November 8th and this will be at my 50th birthday celebrity party. I’ll let you know the details soon so you can your table booked. Every table will include a signed copy of my new book in limited edition hardback. It’s going to be filled with stories that no-one has heard before and revealing some truths!

2014 will also see the great Ricky Hatton come to Leicester for a Q+A with K Kong Events. This should be a fantastic night. Details coming soon.

I am also really excited for the Leicester Music Festival. It is being organized by a few of my close friends and I’m really looking forward to it! For more info you can check out their website,
