Steve Walsh Blog – 10th November

Well, I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, what a difference one week can make in football! LCFC’s positive momentum seems to have (hopefully momentarily), disappeared. Back to back defeats and we now sit fifth in the league table. Crystal Palace were the first to knock us off course, taking away our 100% home record and after an away defeat at Watford all the doubters are back on our case. I have to say there seems to be no stopping Crystal Palace at the moment and they are looking to be the team to beat. In the last week Palace have beaten us, Blackburn and hammered Ipswich to reach top of the league. I have my doubts as to whether or not the Palace squad can sustain their lead throughout the long season but appointing Ian Holloway could be a masterstroke for them and only time will tell.

On 3rd November, it was my birthday so I couldn’t make it to the Watford game, but I’m glad now that I didn’t travel all that way as I’ve heard it was one of our worst performances of the season so far. And there was no 3 point birthday present for me! But I did get some fish and chips at Muzzy’s fancy dress Halloween party. And I can’t forget it was my sister Sue’s birthday on Monday 5th November!

Back to footy action. There should have been three points from the game against Bolton, it was a good performance from LCFC and the stats were good, but no goals! And an away win would have been great for morale and put the lads in a good place for the Forest game. I cannot wait to see City play our Nottingham rivals. This is for me, always one of the most exciting games of the season! It’ll be important for Leicester to get an early domination and makes sure we can keep Forest and Derby below us on the table. Good Luck to Nigel and the lads!

I spotted one of my old Wigan teammates moving up the football managerial ladder last week. Best wishes and good luck to Paul Cook who has taken over at Chesterfield in League 2 after impressing in Ireland at Sligo (who he got into Europe!) and Accrington. We played together back in 1984 and he is a great bloke and a scouser who will do well – I am going to watch his progress with interest!

On 15th December K Kong are hosting a Christmas party at Leicester Coliseum, for any more information you can see our website.

Also I’ve got 100 94’ Play-0ff Final framed photos available perhaps as a Christmas Present idea. It’s a unique 1st day cover and theres 100 of them. There going for £125 plus 4.99 P&P if required. Please see the photos below and contact [email protected].
