A quiet week on the football front as it’s international break time, but well done England for a great result last night against Montenegro and good luck to the lads for a big match against Poland next Tuesday. I know many people are still not sure about Roy Hodgson, but the England team really looked up for the game and showed no nerves at all, even when a goal was pulled back after going 2–0 up.
Saturday’s result against Doncaster was a little disappointing. I was expecting that Leicester would be able to come away with maximum points. It doesn’t sound as if they played particularly well, and an uncharacteristic mistake from Schmiechel cost LCFC the opportunity to come away with a point. Although it was disappointing to see Schmeichel make such a mistake, you can’t hold it against him as he has made some brilliant saves so far this season. He’s a good keeper and I don’t think one mistake will affect his future performances.
Overall LCFC have made a good start to the season, and they are in a good position as they go into an International break. Admittedly it would have been nice to finish on a win, but at least we are still sat 3rd in the league. The next game is Huddersfield at home, they lads will have had a chance to re-group so I’m hoping for 3 points!
Last Sunday, I attended the “Sellebrity” match at The King Power stadium. It was a great day and about 4000 people came. I managed about 18 minutes on the pitch, but unfortunately my team lost. I was playing alongside Muzzy Izzet, and he got injured about 5 minutes after I came off. It was a great event, but next time we need to remember to take the celebrities out the night after, not the night before! On the Saturday night before the big event, we went into Leicester and were treated to drinks and VIP treatment at the XY Bar and Club. Nilesh, the owner of club sorted this for us, so a big thanks to him!
I’ve had a really busy week with hosting The Dragon’s Den Chinese. The first Friday and Saturday it was open was really hectic. So far it’s going really well! We are hoping to get lots of big parties in to fill up our 40 seat authentic restaurant.
On Friday I also went to the Headstart Day Nursery in Oadby to congratulate Alison Glenn on making the final of the Nursery Management Today “practitioner of the year” awards. Alison is a big City fan, and her achievement is fantastic in this national awards ceremony which is being held at the Hilton Hotel in London next month. Good luck Alison!
I would like to thank City Communications for helping us solve some issues we’ve been having with mine and Muzzy’s telecoms. They have been really great and got us up and running very quickly plus they’ve also saved us quite a bit of money! Recommend using them! www.city-communications.co.uk
Mine and Muzzy’s Future Foxes Soccer Academy has also been keeping me busy. We’ve organised an October holiday camp in Fleckney that’s running 21st-25th. We’ve got lots of new skills to put to the test, and Muzzy has just completed his Level 3 UEFA B Licence. If you want any more details you can get them from our website, www.futurefoxes.com.
Finally some really exciting news. K Kong Events have just confirmed Ricky Hatton coming to Leicester April 2014 for a Q&A plus meet and greet. We will have something on www.kkongevents.co.uk for more information so keep checking in!
