Steve Walsh Blog – 19th October 2013

Great to see England qualifying for Brazil this week, and for the first time in a long time, it’s actually been enjoyable to watch them play! The younger players coming through are a really exciting batch and with the right blend of youth and experience, next summer in Rio may be much better than we have come to expect of the national side. With pace and an attacking style of play, let’s hope the England squad can do us proud.

After the international break, City are back to business today with Huddersfield Town at home. I’m predicting three points for today’s game and I want us to get straight back on to a winning streak. After the break, we should be hungry for a win, especially after our below par performance against Paul Dickov’s Doncaster. It’s a shame that an ex-Leicester player came back to haunt us, but I bet Paul Dickov was pleased with his win!

Anyway, it’s done and dusted now, and hopefully next April we can go and beat Huddersfield away because that’s when the points will really count! And, despite a disappointing performance, City still sit third in the league! I see a bright future at the minute and I know that Nigel Pearson has the lads training hard to make sure they are all in tip top condition for their up-and-coming matches.

We’ve got two home games coming up and we need to get maximum points before we face Watford and Forest. They are both going to be big, important games. December is looking to be a tough month as well as we will be facing QPR, Burnley and Reading. Once these matches are out of the way we will get a better perspective of where LCFC are going. I’m really hoping that we will be able to keep up the good work, we all know what happened after Christmas and New Year last season. I’m hoping we will have learned that lesson and this year LCFC are definitely better equipped both mentally and physically.

Good luck to Nigel Pearson and the lads, let’s get back to winning ways!
