As Wigan Athletic stroll into the Quarter Finals of the FA Cup with a lucrative tie away to Everton, I can’t help but feel that that should have been us! Although, I’m really pleased for my old club and wish them the best of luck for the next round. My memories of Wigan will stay with me forever and I’ve got a lot to be grateful of as they gave me my first professional contract that set me on my way to a fantastic footballing career. They are still fighting to stay in the Premier League as they have done for so many seasons, but this year it looks like they are really up against it!

Last weekend saw Nigel Pearson and his men watch their two nearest rivals widen the gap for automatic promotion ever further. It was a weekend to ponder with a tinge of regret as we crashed so miserably out the FA Cup, and had the bad news of Chris Wood’s injury. All in all, yet another bad week for LCFC.

We all know that promotion is our main objective so we all need to keep that optimism as a firm priority. Our players need to show more self-belief, this is vital if we are going to turn around our streak of bad performances. It’s also important that the fans stay with us all the way, but as a club, the support is always top notch. Even Chris Wood was heard praising the Blue Army a couple of days ago!

It was sad to see yet another defeat on Tuesday night against Charlton. Especially as it was the first home defeat of 2013. But, it was great to see Chris Wood back on the pitch scoring more goals. He really is showing his worth on the pitch and I’m looking forward to seeing him and our new signing, Harry Kane working together. Best of luck to Harry, I hope he can turn things around for us!

Over the Easter Holiday, Muzzy Izzet and I are running a soccer academy; the dates are 25th-29th March. For more information please see our website,

K Kong Events has also got a few great events coming up. We have a night with Joe Calzaghe on 5th April that still has tables left. Also we have a gig with Alexander O’Neil on 1st June at Leicester’s O2 Academy. For more information on these two events please see

Me and Muzzy went to see the King Richard site last week. Well worth a visit to Leicester Cathedral.
