On Friday evening, I saw The Birch at a Q&A Evening which I took part in. It was, as
always, a great laugh and The Birch (MBE) even bought me a drink! All in all, a great weekend for me and LCFC. It was the big one on Saturday, LCFC vs Derby County and we well and truly silenced the Rams yet again. For obvious reasons it’s one of the biggest games of the season for me and the boys did me proud! More importantly we got straight back into wining form after the midweek Leeds slip up. What a great game and in front of the TV cameras for all to see.
Nigel Pearson must be very happy with his players and I have to admit his tactics were spot on. Leaving Nugent on the bench was always going to his ace card, along with Ben Marshall. There are so many different options we now have to change the game and everyone will play an important role from now until the end of the season. Waghorn is certainly relishing his main job and surely him and Nugent are going to shoot us into the Premier with back up from Vardy or Fuctas. There were outstanding performances from De Laet, Whitbread, and the Big Wes Morgan. Morgan’s reliability and consistent performances make him a key and valuable player. Not only do we have a strong team at the moment, but like I said to my half-time hospitality guests, we also have a strong bench, one as strong as ours could be the key to moving into the premier league!
I must say fair play to Derby, they made a game of it, but City outclassed them in every way! Flowing football and creating loads of chances, it doesn’t get much better than that. Bring on Barnsley!
There’s a really important spell of games coming up as Christmas closes in. It should give us the chance to stay with the pack and boost our solid goal difference. We play Cardiff twice in the space of a month but I think we can do it. And Palace are still going strong, but I still think they will run out of steam.
This Saturday it’s Barnsley at home and it will not be an easy game even though they are struggling for points. I know their manager Keith Hill thinks that survival in the Championship is as much as they can expect this season, but they are capable of putting in the occasional exceptional performance (they completely demolished Birmingham at St Andrews a few weeks ago 5 – 0) and they should not be underestimated. We need to keep their No 9 Craig Davies quiet and watch out for his long shots when he cuts in from the left wing onto a very dangerous right foot!
Went to the opening of a new bar in Leicester last friday was great to catch up with Ian Marshall and Ben Kay.
After that it’s back to business for me getting involved with my KKong Events company and I hope to see quite a few City supporters who have booked Christmas parties with us very soon!
