Steve Walsh Blog – 9th November 2013

Last weekend I received the best birthday present I could have asked for! City’s fantastic win away at Watford. And, I got an early present in the form of the Foxes storming through to the next round of the Capital Cup!

Our win at Watford has sent a chilling message to the rest of our opponents, we mean business! Nigel Pearson must be so proud of his team. He has certainly shown the critics. If we keep up our good work, I have all the faith that we can not only be promoted, but be Champions. Obviously, I don’t want to get too carried away as we all know only too well that football can bite back when you least expect it!

The whole team played exceptionally well, it’s hard to pick out any of the players, they were all exceptional! It’s one of the best performances from the lads I’ve seen in a while. I think Wasilewski put in a great performance and made some critical defensive moves, he has made our back defences look ever stronger than before. Watford looked as if they really struggled to get any balls through our rock solid defence. It would be impossible to write this blog and not mention both Chris Wood’s goal and Anthony Knockaert’s goal. Wood, being the first goal of the match showed how chasing the ball, even when in the Keeper’s hand can pay off. It looked as though it took a while for him to even realise what had happened, a pure fluke, but none the less brilliant! I was really pleased to see Knockaert score, especially after what happened at the end of last season. I know he was booked for his celebration, but he deserved his moment of glory!

There are some big games coming up and the confidence amongst the players must be high. We’ve got Forest today, but judging by the past few weeks’ result, we hopefully will hammer them! December’s going to be a tough month with games against Burnely, QPR and Man City. As challenging as those games will be, I think we’ve got a big enough squad to cope with the pressure!

Good luck to everyone at Leicester City, keep up the good work.

Away from the football, I have had another busy week as anyone who follows me on Twitter will have seen. The Dragons Den Chinese Restaurant that I am hosting had its best week since opening. We had a very special guest on Thursday night, X Factor’s Sam Bailey came down to visit. The restaurant was packed out, and Sam was good enough to sing us all a song! Wow, what an amazing voice. Thanks for coming down Sam, good luck with the rest of the X Factor competition!
